Money: Mutual Sector – September 7th 09

Andy Verity and Mickey Clark present this morning’s business stories, including:
The body which represents the UK’s mutual sector has said that proposed regulations by the city watchdog will weaken the sector and damage competition.
The gas and electricity company National Grid says engineering is “an invisible industry” that doesn’t appeal to young people.
We also look at a report by the Equality and Human Rights Commission which says women in some of the UK’s top finance firms get around 80% less in performance related pay than men.
Finally, it’s the first anniversary of U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson announcing a government takeover of troubled mortgage giants Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae.
