ROME, May 19 (Reuters) – Italian car maker Fiat SpA
must keep open all five of its domestic plants, despite its
proposal to merge with the European operations of General Motors
, Industry Minister Claudio Scajola said on Tuesday.
“For the government, the maintenance of the five plants in
Italy is not negotiable,” the minister said at a financial
conference in Rome.
