The CIPD and the British Chamber of Commerce have now written to the Low Pay Commission calling for the minimum wage to be frozen in 2009 we discuss how 2009 shaping up for jobs.
And will London lose its status as a top financial centre because of the banking crisis? According to a recent survey of businesses done by the CBI and KPMG only one in ten businesses think London’s status as a world city will grow over the next 5 years and that one in three think its reputation will lessen.
And finally, we speak to Martin Rees, President of the Royal Society and Professor at King’s College Cambridge who puts forward his argument; how the credit crunch can be good for science.
